Crown Point House & Land Crown Point Bequia
Private Driveway for Plots 1 & 2
Crown Point House, also known as Plots 1 & 2 of Spring Estate,is accessed via a private driveway off from Lower Crown Point Road, and sits amidst 2 acres of natural tropical woodland in an elevated position with tremendous views over the Caribbean Sea and islands of Battowia and Balliceaux. The house may also be approached from the Lower Government Road.
Crown Point Layout
This property has been arranged as 3 buildings nestled amongst lush tropical woodland. The building at the apex of the development is the garage, located on Lower Crown Point Road which is the main access to the house. A series of stone steps lead to the central accommodation. The middle development houses 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on one level whilst a practical area with storage, workshop and laundry are located on the lower level. The remaining building is built upon three levels. The upper floor hosts the Great Room and kitchen whilst beneath this are a further 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and kitchen area. At the lowest level of this development lies a large storage room and bedroom.Adjacent Buffer Land also Available There is a parcel of land adjacent to the house available for purchase which would be ideal as a buffer between this property and the government land.
Agreed Limitations of Development
There exist deeded restrictions upon adjacent land thus guaranteeing unobstructed views from Crown Point House. The restriction prevents the building of any structure within a specified area of the lot to preserve the view amenity of Crown Point House
Built by Julie Mackintosh & Well Maintained
Built in 1969, Crown Point House has been well maintained over the last 40 years. Over 120,000 US$ have been invested in the water catchment and roof areas recently.
Constructed using Local Stone
The floors throughout are made from hard wearing and easily maintained local stone, set in a rustic style. The doors and roof have been built from purple and green heart. The balcony chairs and some of the doors have been handmade by a local craftsman. The roof has been constructed using wooden beams and steel.
At the base of each house are stored 22,000 gallons of water. Both tanks have pressure and gravity feed systems.
Currently there are 3 main sites proposed for a swimming pool at the house. The dated garage at the top of the development could become an additional living space, such as staff quarters or a guest studio. There is currently ample room for both parking and accommodations in this area. The storage area at the lower level of the second building also lends itself to further accomodational development.
32ft to the Beach
Footsteps away from Spring Bay Beach. Likely to be deserted this beach is quiet, fringed by mature palms and perfect for snorkeling.
Crown Point is the hub of Bequias east coast, located on a central promontory, and an exclusive international residential area protected by a palm fringed coral reef
