The island is 12.6 acres in size. Current Buildings occupy 2.5 acres allowing for ample space for further development. There are 29 private guest cottages scattered around the island, primarily upon gentle sloping hillsides overlooking the ocean.

For Water supply and power supply to the property the arrangements are as follows:
- The water supply for the property comes from the Central Water and Sewerage Authority via submarine pipe.
- The power supply for the property comes from Vinlec (St. Vincent Electricity Services Ltd.) via a submarine cable and there is a fully operational generator on the property which is used during power outages to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
Lease Hold - easily renewable
The property is a leasehold property owned by the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Current owners will extend the lease for the new buyers for the full 99 years.
There are 48 years remaining on the existing lease with an option to renew for 40 years. Thus, 88 years are available under the present conditions - the owner has indicated that they will extend the lease for a full 99 year period.A longer lease is also possible and would not be unreasonably withheld. Discussions to establish extension to the buyers satisfaction could be done prior to purchase so as to obtain the requisite commitments and comfort to proceed.>The lease payment to the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is a modest amount per year.

Brief History ...from Carib Chief to Hilton Group
Legend has it that 150 years ago the Carib Chief "Chatoyer" traded the island for a stallion owned by the then British Administrator, Governor Young, hence the origin of the island's name.Young Island was eventually developed into a luxury resort some 48 years ago by John Houser of the Hilton Group. In 1979, ownership eventually moved to its current Vincentian owners, Sir Frederick Ballantyne and Mr. Vidal Browne. The resort has been in the same ownership for thirty three years, and a new owner or partner is now being sought.
