... If we go back to Grenada (and we will), we wouldn’t even think about staying anywhere else ... Trip Advisor

    "A great place to stay"

My wife and I along with our older son stayed at this location. When we arrived at the airport we were picked up and taken to the villa. It was 10:30 in the evening and this was our first time in Grenada so we would not have known where to go. Once at the villa, we were greeted by Sharon who handed us the keys and answered any questions that we may have had. There was a pre-paid cell phone provided which was nice for calling cabs. Being our first time in Grenada, we took a cab everywhere. We used the same cab driver all week and had him give us a tour of the Island one day which included a trip to one of the many waterfalls.
We had a great view of the Caribbean Sea even though the Palm trees are allot larger than what you see in there brochure. It gave you the feeling of seclusion. The pool was nice and deeper than I expected. We were in the pool at least once every day. The shower in the forth bathroom, which is under the pool deck was great. It had two shower heads and pulsating jets and a place to sit down. Once we discovered this shower, we used it all the time. The hot water is apparently heated by the sun so I suggest, if you want a hot shower, you take it in the evening. Be patient, it takes awhile for the hot water to reach sinks and showers. The villa had high speed internet (both wired and wireless).
We cooked dinner on the provided charcoal grill three times. We ate out once at the aquarium Restaurant and it was very good. The only problem, which was not a problem for us, was the air conditioning in the Kitchen/dining/living area was not working. Sharon said that they had ordered a part for it. We preferred the caribbean breeze anyhow. The bedroom air conditioners did work. The bedrooms were on the bottom level and the living area is on the second level with a spiral staircase between them. You can reach the bedrooms by steps on the outside of the building though which was necessary for taking luggage in and out at the beginning and end of the stay. My wife and I went scuba diving at the underwater sculpture park while our son snorkeled on the surface. We used Eco Dive Grenada.

    "A perfect fortnight in Paradise!"

If you're looking for a romantic holiday on the lovely island of Grenada, then look no further than the fantastic Turtleback Pavillion.
We have just returned (unfortunately!!) from getting married in the villa and it was such a great time that we will be returning but next time for 3 weeks.
The villa is located in the sought after neighbourhood of Lance aux epinesand is situated in lush tropical gardens ...
The layout has been well thought out and planned, with sunny and shady areas around the pool and a fantastic 'upper deck', where you can eat and relax looking out over the caribbean sea...

    "Loved Turtleback!"

... If we go back to Grenada (and we will), we wouldn’t even think about staying anywhere else. While I was concerned that we’d be away from bars, etc., we found that we’d come home from a day out and about, and be mesmerized by the setting, the ambiance. Some nights when we’d planned to go out to dinner or for drinks, we chose rather to relax on the deck, beneath the stars or upstairs in the open-air living area beneath the fans. The location was convenient, yet you felt you were the only people in the world. It was about 5-10 easy minutes to Grand Anse and True Blue ...

"We spent one fabulous week in Grenada in late June / early July, as the first stop of our honeymoon. It was our first Caribbean experience, and we were very lucky to have had it staying at the Turtleback Pavilion. We came across the Reef View Pavilions through an internet search, after our original accommodation plans had fallen through. This turned out to be an absolute blessing and we would definitely stay at Reef View again whenever we can manage to get back to Grenada.

Firstly, a few words about Grenada. If you are reading this, then you’ve probably already done some reading about this amazing island. We were a little apprehensive at first about going to Grenada at the start of the ‘hurricane season’ but as it turned out, the weather in late June / early July was fine and we only had any real rain on one day while we were there. Although the devastation caused by Hurricanes Ivan and Emily in 2004/5 can still be seen everywhere, life in Grenada has picked up again and we found it a really fantastic island to visit.

We recommend that you do get out and see as much of the island as possible (we met some tourists who barely left their resorts or Grand Anse beach), because there is a lot to see. Highlights for us were Grand Anse beach (it is stunning), a day-trip to Carriacou and Petite Martinique, driving around the island, the pretty capital of St Georges, and seeing the rural parts in the east and north of the island. The experience we had in Grenada was very different to that in some other islands we visited, such as Antigua and St Martin, and it’s a lot more ‘real life’ than those places, but if you can get into this as opposed to living in a tourist bubble, then it will be all the more special.

But now for the Reef View Pavilions. The location is great, in a nice quiet area and with beautiful views overlooking a small bay. We only rented a car for 2 days out of 7 but this was actually fine. If you don’t mind a short walk to and from the main roads (a few hills, but good exercise), you can get a mini-bus, complete with awesome reggae and soca music, to take you into St Georges and from there to the rest of the island.

The Turtleback Pavilion is a really beautiful little place with more than enough space for a couple. The kitchen has all the utensils that you might need for a good meal, there is enough storage space, and there is a DVD player and sound system too. The views from inside are nice and it was great to wake up each morning and be able to look out to sea while still lying in bed.

But you really cannot beat the private swimming pool and pool area, plus the huge upstairs open-air space, for places to relax. There are views of the bay from all of these places, and the upstairs area was a beautiful place to eat breakfast each morning (we sometimes found it hard to leave, wanting to stay there all day). By the way, you can walk down along a track to that bay in just two minutes, and it’s a really nice place for a quiet swim.

Our stay at Turtleback would not have been nearly as memorable were it not for the hosts, Anthon and Sharon. After the hospitality and kindness they showed us while we were there, they are welcome at our house in Australia any time! They both came to meet us at the airport, and then showed us around the Turtleback immediately. Anthon and Sharon had cooked a meal for us on our first night, made to order (beautiful chicken curry, Sharon!). They gave us plenty of information on where to go and what to do, and made sure that there were plenty of guides to Grenada on the coffee table. The small touches – like having a pre-paid mobile phone there for us to use, and offering to buy us groceries in advance – helped to set this place apart from anywhere else we stayed in the Caribbean on our trip.

" If you want a fabulous villa in a beautiful location with great hosts, do not look past either the Turtleback or Tradewind Pavilions."

We have just returned (unfortunately!!) from getting married in the villa and it was such a great time that we will be returning but next time for 3 weeks.

The villa is located in the sought after neighbourhood of Lance aux epinesand is situated in lush tropical gardens .. in fact the photo's on the websiteare misleading, as the trees and vegetation are now so well established that neither property can be seen from the other.

The layout has been well thought out and planned, with sunny and shady areas around the pool and a fantastic 'upper deck', where you can eat and relax looking out over the caribbean sea.

We had a rental car, which in my view is essential, but in fact the restaurants at the Calabash , Red Crab and Charcoals are only a 5 minute drive, with Prickly Bay walkable in 15 minutes.

In fact,Grand Anse and all it has to offer is a only a 10 minute drive and St. Georges is 15 minutes.

There is also a small and secluded beach only a 2 minute walk and is ideal for a dip or snorkelling.

The owners, Sharon and Anthon, will do as much for you as you want, we only needed the villa cleaning twice a week but Claudette will come and clean every day if you wish.

We booked through Just Grenada and their representitives, Caribbean Horizons, looked after us brilliantly, from ensuring transport to and from the airport, to

organising our wedding day and even acted as witnesses.

Nothing was too much for them and they are an excellent contact for trips, taxi's etc.

The villa as its own BBQ, so a trip to the fish market in St Georges ensured plenty of fish to cook on the evenings when we didn't fancy eating out.

Being in a villa means you can do as much or as little as you want in a time that suits you and both Marina and I can promise you a pefect time in paradise if you decide to stay at Turtleback.

    We will be back !!"
